A Look at the Ganga Kutir

Located 51km from Kolkata, the 1.5-acre resort is wrapped around a 7,400sqft lagoon pool, which includes a sunken bar, a Jacuzzi, fountains and bridges.

The 19 duplex units, each just right for a family with young children, are self-sufficient, with a pocket-sized pantry, a living room with a pull-out sofa bed and a winding staircase leading up to a wee bedroom. And, the glass roofs in the bathrooms add an element of fun.

A trio of metal geckos crawling up a wall, a row of ceramic birds lined up delicately on bamboo, mud-coloured exteriors with a white trim, Goodearth furnishings in pastel shades—Anaya Kutir, part of the Raichak on Ganges complex, is the newest escape for Kolkatans. It draws its name from the 12-year-old Anaya Spa (part of the resort), currently managed by L’OCCITANE.

The Dining Room, Anaya’s sole food outlet, serves organic fare. Fitness-conscious guests will gladly note that the calorific value of each dish is mentioned alongside. In pleasant weather, you have the option of dining al fresco by the pool. And, with the air as fresh and crisp as it is out here, you’ll undoubtedly have worked up enough of an appetite to do it justice
