The French Alps shine white in winter but they’re green and blooming in summer too. The same chairlifts that take you to the top of the peaks in winter operate in the summer months too, taking you to green hiking trails up high in the mountains.
At the top, signposts point in all directions, like a choose-your-own adventure. The air’s still pretty chilly, the sounds of cowbells ring in the breeze, wild berries grow in abundance waiting to be picked and eaten, mushrooms spring out of the mossy forest floor.
You’ll look down on all the tiny mountain villages below, covered in mist and clouds.
