Capella is a luxurious home-stay located on a private, forested hill in the sleepy village of Parra. We offer visitors a unique opportunity of experiencing life with a local family but with the privacy and level of comfort afforded by the best boutique hotels. Capella is the perfect choice for birdwatchers and nature lovers looking for a relaxed holiday in tranquil surroundings.
The large, high-ceilinged living room opens onto a central courtyard filled with tropical plants and a fishpond. Our living room is a comfortable space tastefully furnished with a combination of old family heirlooms, photographs and lamps and a large formal dining table that can accommodate a group of eight. A seating arrangement around a large flat screen TV occupies one corner. Guests can choose from a vast collection of children's DVDs belonging to our son Zal or select a book on the local flora and fauna from the well-stocked Library. The living room opens out onto a deep front veranda overlooking the swimming pool and the hills beyond. Here guests can lounge on comfortable cane furniture and enjoy a beer or a game of Scrabble with our in-house Scrabble champ.
Our gardens are filled with an abundance of sweet scented frangipani and Indian jasmine, interspersed with bamboo, gulmohour, mango, jackfruit and jambul trees that attract an amazing variety of birds and butterflies. Apart from nattily dressed black and white magpie robins and frowzy groups of babblers, there is every chance you will see any number of sunbirds, golden orioles, peacocks, tree pies, golden-backed woodpeckers and bulbuls without stirring from the shade of your veranda! We also organise birding trips with knowledgeable experts for interested guests both in our area and further afield. Chorao Island, Carambolim Lake, Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary are all excellent birdwatching destinations.

HOW TO GET THERE
Goa is connected several times a day by air from Bombay, Delhi, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Bangalore, Madras, Cochin, Calicut. Internationally you can fly on scheduled airlines from Dubai, Kuwait, Doha (many people now take Qatar Airways via Doha, avoiding Mumbai etc). During the season, there are several weekly flights from the UK, Switzerland, Holland, Russia and Scandinavia.
By Airport : Taxi are available outside the arrivals terminal at Airport. Obviously the best means of transport from the Airport or Station is by car. If you let us know in advance of your plans we will have you picked up.
By Road : You can also come by road, though I would not recommend that (17 hours by bus from Bombay to Goa).
An exclusive boutique home-stay, located fifteen minutes from the bustling beaches of North Goa. Baga beach and the busy Baga-Calangute tourist stretch is a 15 minute drive away. The relatively untouched beaches of Morjim-Arambol are half and hour away. Panjim and the Latin Quarter are approximately 25 mins drive and Old Goa 40 mins. The airport is about an hour away and Tivim Station 25 mins. The beaches of South Goa are an hour and a half away. We are basically a bed and breakfast but there are many excellent restaurants close by. While we can always arrange a taxi to ferry you about, hiring a car or a two wheeler for the duration of your stay might be a good idea.
