About Tathagata Farm
Tathagata Farm and Community Homestays were developed as a way to better the socio-economic condition of the Mineral Spring village where the people mainly supported themselves with agriculture. If we could engage some of the homes in alternative income generation, this would also motivate neighbors to take up the project. Self employment and more active engagement in rural tourism is what we are hoping to achieve in the future.
We are also training local youths for a Guided Village tour and activities.
By staying with us on the Tathagata Farm, you will not only have a relaxing experience with lovely views to the Himalayas, but you can also find out more about our local people and the interesting initiatives that we have spearheaded. We can't wait to show you all the beauty in this part of India.
Tathagata Farm has a few quaint, free-standing huts on our tea farm. They have baths and toilets attached with a big opening in the front of the cabins facing the farms where we grow our tea, cardamom, ginger, vegetables, oranges and other crops.
Offering dazzling views of the Himalayas in the backdrop, wake up within the idyllic serenity of a tea farm estate of Darjeeling.
Situated 45 minutes away from Darjeeling town, here you can spend your days exploring the nature trails leading to sparkling waterfalls or simply relax with a book on your cabin’s porch as you soak-up the fresh mountain air and quietude of rural India. Your cabin is complete with electricity and en-suite bathrooms and the accommodation staff will prepare freshly made cuisine made from the local produce handpicked from the garden.
